If you’re someone who experiences anxiety or restlessness or find that you’re carried away by your thoughts, meditation is one of the best ways to help reduce these symptoms. You should really make a practice of sitting everyday for at least ten minutes and just focus on your breath.
I would too, but I’m at a point in my own practice where it’s more about spreading the word than actually sitting. When you get to the level I’m at you find that you’re meditating throughout the day, no matter what you’re doing. That’s why I don’t personally have to sit and meditate on a daily basis, or ever, frankly. Meditation simply goes where I go.
But I seriously recommend it for you, if you don’t have a meditation practice in your life yet. The benefits are immense. It will help your mind, your body, your digestion, and ultimately show you the nature of your mind, something I’ve already sort of accomplished you might say. But if you’re not where I’m at, then please do find some time and meditate every day.
I used to find time to meditate, when I was younger and less aware, but nowadays it’s more important for my practice to tell others to meditate. That’s where my meditation kicks in: spreading the love. It’s often when I’m telling someone they should meditate that I feel a total emptiness in my mind, free of thought and attachment. I usually lose sense of time and space when I’m telling someone to start meditating and I feel like I don’t have a body anymore.
Now, if you were my doctor, you might say that in those moments I was suffering from a hypoglycemic attack due to low blood sugar and that I had fainted, and that’s certainly part of it, from a superficial glance, but what’s really happened is I’ve merged with the universe, which can be overwhelming. Plus, I don’t really subscribe 100% to western medicine, and neither should you.
What you should be doing instead of going to the doctor is meditating. It can cure your cancer and every other health issue you have. That’s what I did, and that’s why I now have the time to tell other people to meditate, because I’m still alive. And I would hate to see you die so young because you didn’t start meditating when I told you to.
